Music, Dance and

Theatre

Students of all grades learn music, dance, and theatre as a regular part of the curriculum. What begins as body movement and role play in the primary grades evolves into folk and classical dance in the higher grades.

Students stage Reader’s Theatre in Junior school where the focus is on tonality, modulation and enunciation. They enact stories, through puppets, and design backdrops to present their scripts.

In the Middle and Senior school students develop street plays with powerful environmental messages and full length plays on social issues that are scripted from their experience and drawn form local events. The plays carry a powerful meaning and resonate with the issues close to the heart of the community. The intense and moving quality of their plays is borne out by the fact that these plays have been staged many times, in many locations, in response to requests from several cities in Tamil Nadu.
