TVS Academy, Hosur, is a co-educational school affiliated to the CBSE Board. It provides a caring and exciting learning environment which inspires children to explore, experiment and discover meaning and purpose, in all that they do.
Engaging with the community has always been the USP of TVS Academy. Students of grade VIII presented their street play on No Plastic and “water” to students of Gurukulam & Nalanda
To gain a hands on experience of harvesting Ragi, students of grade VIII visited the fields and helped in the harvest. Ms Nandhini gave them a briefing before the activity
Models and Hands on experiements, game boards & STEM projects were presented to parents by students of Grades VI – X. The science expo was the culmination of their learning.
A group of students from grade X visited the IIT campus at Chennai. Their interaction with some professors on quantum Mechanics and other topics helped them to get deeper understanding which would lead to self directed learning. The visit to innovative lab was a “wow” experience.
Agastya Trip – Students of grade VII visited Agastya foundation and experienced hands on exploration which sparked their curiosity. The exposure to native also rejuvenated them.
MATH WORKSHOP FACILITATED BY MR.BHARGAV
Math teachers participated in this workshop where topics like Math in music, math in nature, math in architecture, sculptures & murals were discussed. There was also a discussion on the History of number system, math story, and new ideas for math lab were generated.
Students of grades VIII & IX were exposed to principles of aerodynamics, had a hands on experience to design their own gliders and test them.
This programme was initiated by few parents under the guidance of the Principal. Children, students and teachers explored the mountains & its ruggedness thereby creating bonds and undeliable memories.
It included domains like fire safety, road safety & cyber safety. Children & teacher watched a video on the Ted talk emphasizing on Road Safety. Innovative games were used to drive the message.
A TALK ON ROCK CYCLE TSUNAMI, EARTHQUAKES
Dr. Kanishkan retired director geological survey of India addressed the students of grade VIII on the geological resources. He spoke to them how the human activities have led to an increase in landslides.
Experts from Kalaskhetra conducted a dance workshop for a group of students from grades V – VII. Children learnt to perform some pieces which will be show cased.
GOND ART MURAL
Student along with teachers created a wall mural showcasing “Gond Art”. Students learned this form of art and then created the mural.
READING WRITING WORKSHOP
Dr Ronnie conducted workshops on strategies to promote reading comprehension, vocabulary enrichment, and writing prose and poetry. Most of these strategies would promote collaboration and self ducted learning.
GREEN SAFE DEEPAWALI
Students and teachers reitereated their pledge to celebrate a green safe Deepawali this year. They made posters and created slogans to spread awareness.
TREE WALK AROUND THE CAMPUS
A group of parents were taken around the school campus on a tree walk facilitated by Ms. Srividya Mouli. Parents exhibited enthusiasm to learn about the flora of TVSA.
Career guidance at Moranpalli Government school & Mullai nagar Government school conducted by Parent volunteer Mr. Balamanikandan Exposure was given to students of grades X & XI. It was an interactive session.
It helped IV graders record their observation of details. Children drew their observations, created colour palettes and painted the same. This also generated a lot of collaboration in terms of sharing ideas & materials.
Amzhidhini of grade IX got her way of constructing proper drains for waste disposal in her area. Her untiring efforts like meeting people, talking to the municipal commissioner bore fruits by way of the drainage construction. It was inaugurated by Amzhidhini.
Science Teacher Enrichment Program
As a part of STEM - Dr. Stuart (Senior fellow Duestacon) along with the science teachers explored a variety of highly challenging hands on activities. These activities fostered scientific inquiry, problem solving and computational & thinking skills, using low cost materials
Students of grades VII & VIII exhibited their work created during the workshop conducted by Ms. Nisha Nair. They envisaged a futuristic society and created art pieces for the same. On the day of display students explained their work to the visitors. The visitors commended the children on their work and their confidence during the presentation. Football camp at Adhiyaman college. Facilitated by Deepak Shivaraman (Michigan Trident Soccer Association USA). A group of 30 students across grades VI, VII & VIII attended the football camp and they participated in matches with teams formed from all the participants across all schools.
Basket ball match
Krishnagiri district International school Basket ball match for girls 7th August. The under 12 an under 14 teams of TVSA represented by girls from grades VI – IX emerged witness of the tournament.
RAIN WATER HARVESTING
Students of grades VIII, IX, & X along with teachers attended a guest lecture on Water Management with a focus on “River Cauvery” facilitated by Mr.Shivakumar. He spoke at length about the need of water management and how our practices go a long way in depleting water resources. He also spoke about some practices that are carried out at the rural level to increase the water table; stringent measures taken by the government and public to control water pollution.
Festival and Celebrations
Students of grades III celebrated the Ganesha Chathurthi festival with a lot of fervour. The stories behind the celebration was depicted through a Villupaatu, dance, Reader theatre and songs. The students spoke about the pollution caused by painted plaster of Paris Ganeshas and spoke about using Clay Ganesha. The parents of grade III made their own Ganeshas at school after the programme.
As a part of our drive towards safety on road, Parents teachers and students took a pledge to follow road rules. Stickers were distributed to all. Held on 31/8/2019.
This is annual activity across school wherein teachers, parents and students make clay Ganeshas just before the festival. The importance of using clay as a part of our eco friendly drive was reiterated through enthusiastic participation
Visit to Thorapalli
The students of grade X went to visit the birth place of Rajaji and got first hand information from the exhibits on the freedom Movement.
Boot Camp session on problem solving was conducted for all teachers on 12/6/19. Teachers took up common issues in school/local environment and found solutions. They presented the issues and their solutions. They also used the app Solve Ninja to escalate issues.
15 Students of grade VI and VII were given an opportunity to participate in the photography workshop to learn the technical skills required to bring photograph to life and become aware of all the latest developments in technology as well as lenses that help people to capture high quality photographs
Tholapavakoothu (shadow puppetry from Kerala) was presented by Shri Rama Pulavar and team organized by SPICMACAY. Students of Grade VIII also performed. Parents were invited to watch the same on 12-7-2019.

TVSA SA RI GA MA
Training of TVSA SA RE GA MA junior and senior choir. The facilitators from MYC-Chennai were here on 8/8/2019 & 9/8/2019 to enhance the skills of the group. They learnt new songs and practised the songs that were already learnt.
Dec 14th Saturday : Career Day Student & parents of grades IX & X have the opportunity to interact with experts which will help them wake on informed choice.
